Mnangagwa’s 2030 Extension Unstoppable – Chidawa

ZANU PF activist and Zimbabwe Youth Action Platform (ZYAP) leader, Tonderai Shumba Chidawa said the push for President Emmerson Mnangagwa to remain in office beyond 2028 is unstoppable, claiming it is the will of the people.

Addressing a press conference in Harare on Friday, Chidawa says the ZANU PF 2024 conference resolution number one is unstoppable and called on all relevant authorities to prioritize the execution of the resolution.

“All ZANU-PF provinces have called for the implementation of the 2030 resolution, a landmark initiative vital for the nation’s future”.

“It emphasizes the irreversible momentum of the 2030 resolution, likening it to an unstoppable locomotive, and warns that opposing it will lead to unavoidable consequences”, said Chidawa.

Chidawa also highlighted that those who previously opposed the resolution had an opportunity to present their views.

There are some people who are saying President Mnangagwa said he wants to rest. Yes, he said so. But, let me say this, President Mnangagwa is not the one pushing for his stay in office beyond 2028. It is a resolution from the people.

If the voice of the people is the voice of God, then as a people, we are saying God is speaking to his people and the people are pleading with the President to stay in office beyond 2028.

He added that there is a lot of development happening across Zimbabwe and that there is peace everywhere, therefore Mnangagwa should stay in office.

Chidawa however said those harboring ambitions must be patient until 2030.

“For those harbouring untamed ambitions, we advise patience. The sentiment among the people is clear: they wish for the President to remain in power until 2030, and it is crucial that we align with this collective vision.

Furthermore, we urge all party members to actively participate in party and national events,” added Chidawa.
