Two City of Harare employees tragically lost their lives on Thursday morning while on duty at the city’s sewage treatment plant in Glen View.
In a statement, the City confirmed the incident, describing it as “unfortunate and tragic.”
The Council said that the ZRP, the National Social Security Authority (NSSA) and city officials have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
The City of Harare extended its deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and assured the public that it is committed to uncovering the full details of the tragedy.
No further details regarding the identities of the victims or the cause of the incident were immediately available.
The statement reads:
“In an unfortunate and tragic incident, two City of Harare employees died at our sewer treatment plant in Glen View this morning while on duty.
“Police, the National Social Security Authority (NSSA) and City of Harare officials are investigating the tragic issue.
“The City of Harare extends its deepest condolences to the families of the two and we promise to get to the bottom of the matter.”
