Self style cleric and Kingdom Prosperity Ministries (KPM) leader, Rodney Chipoyera has found himself at the centre of a brewing adultery scandal, just a decade after celebrating his wedding anniversary with his wife Farai.
Chipoyera, who is married to Farai is reportedly facing marital woes following revelations that he fathered a child out of wedlock in a secret relationship with a city woman (name withheld) and sired a child recently.
Sources close to the matter allege that the child’s mother underwent a blood test in preparation for a medical procedure which confirmed that Chipoyera is the biological father.
The affair reportedly involved a young woman said to be related to one of Chipoyera’s close associates within the church.
“What happened is that Apostle Chipoyera was introduced to the young woman through a church connection.
Their relationship turned romantic, resulting in a pregnancy. “We’ve heard that he even paid lobola in secret and the child was recently born,” an inside source.
The scandal throws mud on the image the clergyman projected during his widely publicised wedding anniversary celebration where Faith World Ministries’ Bishop Bartholomew Manjoro officiated the renewal of vows at the Bliss Gardens located in Harare’s Greendale Suburb.
At the time, Chipoyera praised his wife Farai saying:
“God led me to marry Farai. When I saw her, I knew she was the right woman because she was a Christian and God-fearing. She can be in the house of the Lord for 24 hours the value and energy she places in God never burns out.”
The Apostle also once preached that every person needs five key relationships with God, family, a mentor or pastor, and others who guide one’s spiritual journey.
However, critics have now pointed out that he seemingly added a sixth through the alleged extramarital affair in question.
Repeated efforts to reach Chipoyera for comment were unsuccessful as his mobile phone remained unreachable at the time of going to print and his emissaries made futile attempts to gag this publication language pregnant with threats.
