The Government has announced the disbursement of more than ZiG147 million to registered political parties for the 2025 financial year, in terms of the Political Parties (Finance) Act [Chapter 2:11].

The allocation, published in the Government Gazette Extraordinary on 2 September 2025, covers the period from 1 January to 31 December 2025.

Under the breakdown, the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF), which received 69.3% of the total votes in the last election, will be allocated ZiG 102,343,972.50.

Meanwhile, the Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC), which garnered 30.7% of the vote, will receive ZiG 45,338,527.50.

The notice was signed by Ziyambi Ziyambi, Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs.

The Political Parties (Finance) Act provides for state financing of political parties that have secured a minimum threshold of seats in Parliament.

To qualify for public funding under the Act, a political party must have received at least 5% of the total votes cast in the most recent general election.
