Chidawa Blast Machakaire For Failing To Represent The Youths

The Zimbabwe Youth Action Platform (ZYAP) has expressed deep disappointment with the current state of the ruling party’s youth league, accusing it of failing to represent the interests of young people and neglecting its duties ahead of the forthcoming conference.

ZYAP president, Tonderai Shumba Chidawa has criticised the youth leader, Tino Machakaire for allegedly using personal wealth to deepen factionalism and for the absence of meaningful empowerment programmes across the country.

The organization also condemned Machakaire for the inactivity of the Youth Empowerment Bank, demanding transparency on how many youths have benefited.

“His questionable financial conduct is causing significant discord within the League, and we demand a redirection towards transformational leadership.

It is imperative that he mobilises support for the party’s vision rather than perpetuating a self-serving agenda”, Chidawa said.

ZYAP also warned former Central Committee Member, Blessed Runesu Geza, describing him as a “spent force” engaging in divisive and unlawful activities aimed at destabilising the nation and undermining President Mnangagwa’s leadership.

The organization warned Geza and his collaborators that they would be exposed, urging young people to reject his agenda and rally behind national unity and developmental priorities.

“His continued efforts to provoke unrest serve only to harm the country’s social fabric.

In the lead-up to the forthcoming conference, there has been an alarming absence of proactive engagement from the youth league”, said Chidawa.
