Former Norton legislator, Temba Mliswa (53) is set to appear at the Karoi Magistrates Court today.
Mliswa is facing 3 charges of prospecting without a mining licence, cyber-bullying and operating without an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
The former MP has denied all the charges.
Before his arrest, The Southern African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption (SAPNAC) Chairperson was on record accusing ZRP Officer Commanding Mashonaland West, Tawonei Nyazema of fighting him over Rengwe Conservancy.
He alleged that the Police boss is seeking to push him out and replace him with some Chinese miners.
The firebrand politician warned that a corrupt cartel also includes Mashonaland West Provincial Minister, Marian Chombo and extends to Police Commissioner General Stephen Mutamba Mutamba.
The trio have allegedly been running a scheme demanding payments from those seeking to mine along the Sanyati River which is in contravention of Statutory Instrument (SI) 188 of 2024.
Mliswa has spent two nights in police custody.
