Winners and finalists not only receive recognition but also walk away with prize money and other tangible benefits, including strategic media visibility and valuable networking opportunities (subject to sponsorship).
This approach restores dignity within the awards fraternity and empowers community champions to continue their vital work.
The List Awards celebrate excellence across 13 diverse categories, including Business Impact, Humanitarian Impact, Social Impact, Climate and Environmental Impact, Human Rights, Storytelling, Sports, and Emerging Technologies. In addition, three Pan-African awards are open to changemakers in Southern and East Africa.
Eligible nominees must be individuals—women, men, or youth—who have demonstrated at least five years of impactful, selfless commitment to advancing social good, innovation, and community well-being.
Organisations are not eligible for nomination.
A dedicated Selection Committee for The List Awards will ensure transparency, integrity, and fairness throughout the nomination and selection process.
Among the categories open for nominations are:
Business Impact Award, Humanitarian Impact Award, Social Impact Award, Climate and Environment Impact Award, Human Rights Impact Award, Entertainment Impact Award, Youths Impact Award, Poverty Alleviation Impact Award, Sports Impact Award, Storyteller/Journalism Impact Award, Artist Pan African Impact Award (Southern & East Africa), Role Model Pan African Impact Award (Southern & East Africa), and Emerging Technologies Award (Southern & East Africa).
In the Pan-African Awards, Zimbabweans are not eligible for the Artist Pan-African Impact Award and the Role Model Pan-African Impact Award. However, they are eligible to apply for the Emerging Technologies Award.
The List Awards are organised by Identities Media, a female-led communications enterprise that leverages storytelling, advocacy, and dialogue to promote civic awareness, social justice, and community empowerment.
The awards were established to honour extraordinary individuals who often work without recognition, yet whose contributions are essential to building a more equitable and resilient society.
This year, The List Awards will also feature additional workshop days in Harare, designed to provide finalists and winners with valuable opportunities for continued learning, professional growth, and greater capacity to drive positive change in their communities.
Furthermore, finalists and winners will attend the awards ceremony free of charge, along with a guest who will benefit from a significant discount on entry fees—ensuring that community champions and their closest supporters can fully share in the celebration of their achievements.
The nomination process is open until 24 August 2025. Individuals are invited to submit nominations for deserving heroes who have made significant, verifiable contributions in any of the award categories.
