A 40 year old man, Stephen Musongwe, has been convicted of bestiality by the Kwekwe Magistrates’ Court after engaging in sexual activity with a goat.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the incident occurred on 14 August 2025 at around 9 AM at a home in Semchengwe Village, Redcliff.

Musongwe, a former employee of the goat’s owner, entered the pen and committed the act. He was caught in the act by the owner, who had previously identified him, leading to his arrest.

Musongwe was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment, with three months suspended for five years.

The remaining three months were suspended on the condition that he completes 105 hours of community service.

The NPA noted that cases of bestiality have been on the rise and stressed the importance of protecting animals from people with abnormal sexual tendencies.
