The Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) has sent a message of condolences to Geza family, following the untimely death of Blessed Runesu Geza on Friday.
In a statement to the media, ZINLWVA National Chairman, Andrease Ethan Mathibela described Geza as an illustrious son of the soil whose life was defined by courage, conviction, and an unwavering love for his country.
Matibela saluted Geza for being principled to the liberation struggle.
“He remained steadfast to the values of the liberation struggle until his final days. At a time when silence would have been easier, he chose to speak out against corruption and nepotism that continue to undermine the promise of independence. He did so not for personal gain, but out of deep patriotism and a desire to see Zimbabwe live up to the ideals for which so many sacrificed everything”, Matibela said.
The Freedom Fighters added that Cde Bombshell’s departure renewed their commitment to justice and integrity in national life.
“As we bid farewell to Cde Bombshell, may his soul rest in eternal peace. May his legacy inspire reflection, unity, and renewed commitment to justice and integrity in national life,” said Matibela.
Geza, also known as Cde Bombshell, died at a cardio hospital after battling cancer in South Africa on Friday morning.
His family says funeral arrangements will be made in due course.
