Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has assured the nation that peace and security will be maintained across the country on Friday, 17 October 2025, and in the days that follow.

In a statement on Thursday police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the ZRP said comprehensive security measures have been implemented to ensure law and order are upheld nationwide.

The statement reads:

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police assures Zimbabweans and visitors that peace and security will prevail on 17th October 2025 and beyond.

“Comprehensive security measures have been put in place to ensure that peace, law, and order are maintained throughout the country.

“The Commissioner-General of Police has deployed police officers to all provinces to protect the public and maintain law and order.

“Members of the public are urged to go about their daily activities without fear. This includes accessing essential services, operating businesses, using public transport, and attending government institutions.

“The ZRP warns that any misinformation, threats, or incitement to commit crimes will be severely dealt with in accordance with the law.

“Any attempts to engage in unlawful demonstrations or processions will be met with the full force of the law.

“Zimbabweans should feel free to report any suspicious activities, threats, or disturbances affecting their socio-economic activities to any nearest police station, or contact the National Complaints Desk on 024 270 3631 or WhatsApp at 071 280 0197.”
